Take a Social Media Break With Me!

Gasp! Say what? Jae stop playing with me! I know, it sounds crazy right? I mean, if you must be technical, I'm not 110% unplugged because I'm writing this blog. 😝 I have stayed away from Facebook and Instagram for a couple days now, and I must say, I feel fantastic!

Of course I get a little curious when I get super bored, but for the most part, they have both been off limits! Social Media changes you, no matter what you think, it does. I didn't like the mental state I was falling into by being so tuned into Social Media almost every waking moment.

You shouldn't be that plugged in, it's really not healthy. I know it may sound crazy coming from me who wants nothing more than to have a nice, thriving career in Social Media and Blogging, but you have to know when to take a break.

One of the biggest benefits I am happy with taking the much needed break is that my writing is thriving. I'm currently churning out book 4 in my zombie series and I couldn't be happier. I still don't outline, but I am making it work for me. There's a method to my madness. Ok, not really, but my writing workflow is a lot better.

Do you take regular breaks from Social Media? Do you schedule a certain time of day, or do you plan an extended break from Social Media? How do you unplug?

Adulting: Surviving A Long Term Goal

How To Reach A Long Term Goal:Write the goal downKeep doing what you need to do to achieve the goalConstantly look up things that motivate you towards your goalA little competition never hurts!Speak the goal into existenceExpect to fail, but plan to succeed I made it! Holy crap, Batman! I survived Mental Health Awareness Month, and I have no idea how I kept pushing myself. I skipped lunch today to save the extra coins. Yes, you read that right. A co-worker had a snarky remark about it, but guess what? IDGAF! I have goals in my mind, and I'm keeping my eye on the prize. Summer 2018 is mine, and I can only hope that things are finally falling into place. Besides, it's not like I didn't eat anything. I just didn't order out. I saved my money. Call me cheap.

I don't know what the rest of the Summer holds for me, but I know I'm going places and making progress. It has been slow going, and I have been tried, tempted, and failed so many times. I don't know where …

32 on the Nautical Mile

I recently celebrated my 32nd birthday, and it was quite a nice day. I finally got to wear this dress that I purchased last year! I got a little too tipsy, and couldn't even drink the 2nd round I ordered. I was a little disappointed with Nautical Mile. Being from FL, when I think "Water front dining" I think Beach front, and this wasn't the case. I still enjoyed the area. I'm bummed I was too tipsy to explore, but to be honest, there wasn't very much to see as far as sightseeing.

Getting ready? I always keep it kinda simple. I'm no make-up guru by any means. I just like to hide my hyper pigmentation and have bold lips. I don't even wear mascara because it irritates my eyes. I also throw in the towel when it comes to pink lipsticks! It just doesn't agree with my complexion what-so-ever. The red looks much better. Both mattes were by Black Radiance.

I love being out in Long Island because it reminds me a lot of being home. There are actual parking …
